Have you checked the axle bearings with the conrods off? Are all axles free
to rotate when on the track?

What track section do you have it on? is it correct gauge?

Is anything fitted to the axles that could be fouling the track? Ie pump
eccentrics, etc.

Are the wheels rubbing on the frames, boiler or motion? Is a wheel hitting
the blowdown valve or any piping?

Are the brakes dragging on the wheels?
