Hello Donna and all:

Yuck! Stress level increasing ... arm cocked back ready to throw phone? (smile).

Whether fortunately or unfortunately this is one of those awful learning things (yuck ... just what you wanted to here ... right?

What I did in order to get somewhat proficient at this was practice in the phone number area. I would open phone ... double tap keypad and enter phone numbers ... especially ones that I knew (wink). I would purposefully make a mistake, spin the rotor to character, swipe down in the text field, find the number and take it out and replace.

That may not sound like much though it gave me a little practice without being up against the time clock and it was in an environment which did not lend itself to evil consequences if I made a mistake.

Be well and good luck. Do not return that poor Iphone to the store ... it needs a home (smile).

Hi all,

I am still having text editing issues. I have used the rotor, but still cannot move the insertion point one character at a time. If I make a mistake in an edit field, the only way I can seem to fix it is to delete the whole bloody thing, and start over. This is simply not acceptable. I just spent four hours trying to create my app store account, only to be told that I had timed out, and now have to start the whole ****ing process over. If there isn’t a faster way to deal with text entry, the iphone is going to have to go back.
Thanks for any suggestions, if you have them.
Best,
Donna

Take good care and I wish you enough.
