You might want to try groups mode.
It makes browsing much easier, because it requires a whole lot fewer
keystrokes to get somewhere.  Of course, once you're there, you need
to interact to get to the specific items you want, but after a while,
it will become second nature, and you'll wonder how you got along
without it.
