All hail Eric, this IS more than convenient: "Iran has cut all trade ties with Denmark in protest at the cartoons satirising the Prophet Muhammad that first appeared in a Danish newspaper." http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4687116.stm Now, let's assume that Iranian hardliners really are prepared to face the sanctions over the nuclear issue. In which case they have to go back to their potentially very angry citizens to explain themselves. Now, EU is a trade union. Consumer boycots are one thing, but state level action calls for an union wide response. That is they effectively pulled the EU sanctions on themselves. And they can blame it on the blasphemous Danes, Dr Evil is that you pulling the strings? And it gets better. Any nuclear deal would involve EU and propably USA too lifting sanctions. Now the Iranians have the option of formally accepting the deal, but they can then insist that Denmark trade freeze is a separate issue and will stay in place until the witches at Jyllands Posten are burned. And the EU won't then normalize trade relations, and thus no deal... Who needs Yes, Prime Minister with real time politics like this? In other news, I think we have a strong Darwin Award candidate in Beirut:"Security sources said there was one dead body found in the nearby Allied Bank, of 22-year-old Khodr Mohammad al-Hajj. Media reports circulated that he was among those who set the consulate building on fire, got encircled by flames and died after jumping from the third floor." http://www.dailystar.com.lb/article.asp?edition_id=1&categ_id=2&article_id=21994 Yours, Teemu Helsinki, Finland __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
