Yep, apparently Lay gets off. The civil cases against him are dropped.
Lay, more than anyone, is responsible for getting W Bush into the White House. Lay lavishly
funded Bush's campaigns (at least $600,000) and got him into the governorship of Texas and
then propelled him onto national scene. Lay and his fellow conspirators needed pliable dopes
in government offices so they could swindle the country. It is staggering to realize that
Lay and Enron literally held a US state hostage and looted it by manipulating energy
supplies. This is comparable to the Russian Mafia.
It's pity Lay died. He should have gone to prison. Of the horiffically bad Republicans that
have wrecked the USA in the last 20 years, he was at the core.
Let's see who comes to his funeral. None of his "friends" will be there. Bush now says Lay
was merely an "acquaintance." That is the measure of the man: renounced by his closest
friends.
