I'm currently trying to come up with a way to handle input/output position mapping properly for multipass opcodes. However, this is only really required for screen readers, so I guess it can probably wait for another release.
Btw, when you do make a release, can you please also update lou_version() in liblouis/compileTranslationTable.c? This hasn't been updated since 1.3.8 and it'd be good to have it up to date in releases.
