I've demonstrated to myself that the DMR is perfectly capable of making
horrid photos, I don't post those however ;)

We don't know how these SD-1 photos were processed, we don't know how
skilled the photographer is at processing raw files (if these were raw to
begin with).  I agree that with a substantial body of work one can get a
feel for the equipment's capabilities without direct comtrolled
comparisons, but this isn't a substantial body of work.
