Hey! I have Windows Media Player too. How do I transfer the ripped track and would it be a WMA file? I have never managed with Jaws 5.10 to do that. Cheers, Andrew. ----- Original Message ----- From: Russ & Valerie To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, January 23, 2006 9:59 PM Subject: Re: recording a cd I'm surprised Roxio doesn't have a wizard. I sometimes copy CDs through the windows media player. Pop the CD in, go to the file menu hit on devices and then hit rip audio. You can then transfer the file onto CD. This won't give you the digital version, but you can set the file format to lossless wave format and the quality is okay. I haven't ripped digital audio directly to a Cd on my desktop. I use a CD recorder component for digital formatting. ----- Original Message ----- From: Judith Bron To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, 23 January, 2006 11 09 Subject: Re: recording a cd Marissa, I want to take a pre-recorded CD and make a copy of it. There has to be a way to do this, I just don't know what it is. However, none of the music is presently stored on the computer, this is a cd that has never seen my computer. What should I do? Thanks, Judith ----- Original Message ----- From: Marissa Manzino To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, January 22, 2006 1:43 AM Subject: Re: recording a cd Hi Judith, If you want to burn a music CD using EZ CD creater and jaws, do the following. Oh, I should of asked you if it was Roxio, I have Roxio 5. 1. Open roxio. 2. Press Alt and right arrow until you hear new project. 3. Arrow down until you get to music CD. 4. Hit enter and tab to the appropriate directory where you have stored your files. 6. To add a desired file, press control T. When you are done, you should have a list with all the files you have added. Then it's just a matter of hitting Alt and arrowing down until you hear record CD. Hit enter and the buring process should start. If you want to record actual music like guitar parts on to a CD, you would be much better off with Sony Sound Forge 7 or 8. I have Sound FOrge 7 and I'm a singer/songwriter. I record with Sound Forge and then use Sound Forge to burn the tracks on an audio CD. Also, you might want to check out the Fostex MR-8. I hope I've helped.
