Version 5.3. Scripts are necessary and they are available at www.JFWlite.com Hearsay has it that subsequent versions are inaccessible, and it's too bad Roxio did nothing about that. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Toni" <coffey41@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2006 7:12 AM Subject: Re: recording a cd Which roxio program does this? There you will find the appropriate boxes, stuff. Here's the : Help for... Copying a Disc To copy a disc: 1. Insert the disc you want to copy into your source drive. Note: When you select the drive as the source drive for the first time, the drive and disc are tested to determine whether the drive can successfully read the disc. 2. In the Copy from drop-down list box, select the source drive. Note: If your CD-Recordable or DVD-Recordable drive serves as both your source and destination drive, continue with step 4. 3. In the Record to drop-down list box, select the destination drive that contains the blank disc. 4. Make changes, if any, in Advanced tab settings. 5. Click Copy. Disc Copier begins copying the disc. When finished, a final message box appears notifying you that the copying is complete. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Yardbird" <yardbird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, January 23, 2006 7:12 PM Subject: Re: recording a cd Please, people. Stop posting incorrect instructions about "downloading" CDs to your hard drive, using two different programs, etc. to copy a CD , burn a CD from individual tracks, and so forth. If you have a program for these tasks, such as Easy Cd Creator, please just look at the Help section and read the instructions. I don't know that program, but all the others I've seen and tried out have Help sections that sometimes actually give detailed instructions how to perform the various tasks they do. Try looking at the help files instead of making up these things. Also, some of you might want to join the mailing list called PC-Audio, where everyone on the list is capable of discussing these things clearly and many of the subscribers are experienced with all this. If anyone's interested, I'll dig up the subscription info for you. However, none of the music is presently stored on the computer, this is a cd that has never seen my computer. What should I do? Thanks, Judith ----- Original Message ----- From: Marissa Manzino To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, January 22, 2006 1:43 AM Subject: Re: recording a cd Hi Judith, If you want to burn a music CD using EZ CD creater and jaws, do the following. Oh, I should of asked you if it was Roxio, I have Roxio 5. 1. Open roxio. 2. Press Alt and right arrow until you hear new project. 3. Arrow down until you get to music CD. 4. Hit enter and tab to the appropriate directory where you have stored your files. 6. To add a desired file, press control T. When you are done, you should have a list with all the files you have added. Then it's just a matter of hitting Alt and arrowing down until you hear record CD. Hit enter and the buring process should start. If you want to record actual music like guitar parts on to a CD, you would be much better off with Sony Sound Forge 7 or 8. I have Sound FOrge 7 and I'm a singer/songwriter. I record with Sound Forge and then use Sound Forge to burn the tracks on an audio CD. Also, you might want to check out the Fostex MR-8. I hope I've helped.
