Are you sure you downloaded the free version of AVG 8.5 and not the paid
version? Maybe you keep getting those reminders because you actually
downloaded the paid version and its free trial period ends on April 12. Just a
guess on my part.

That's odd. I started getting reminders to upgrade to 8.5 a week or so
ago.
The scans don't run constantly, but it does seem to take hem hours to
finish. During those hours, JAWS is really sluggish and quirky.
But I fixed something in the settings, so we'll see if that helps.
