Judy: Couple of things on the mode changes. You can use the keyboard, but that is a temporary switch only. For example, regardless of what mode you are in, if you hold down the Control key and dictate, you are temporarily in Command Mode as long as Control is held down. As soon as you let go of Control, then you are back to whatever mode you started in. Likewise, you can temporarily switch to Dictation mode by holding down the Shift key. To "permanently" (at least until the next time you start Dragon) switch modes, use one of the mode switching commands - "switch to normal mode", "switch to dictation mode", "switch to command mode", "switch to numbers mode", "switch to spelling mode". You can switch modes via the Dragon Bar menu. In Dragon 9, you need to access the Dragon Bar. Then navigate to the Words sub-menu (I believe it' the third item). Pull down the menu group and navigate to the appropriate mode. Once selected, press Enter and you should be switched. Sue says I need to use the keyboard. I think there is know menu to switch to normal. I have used dragon successfully for a few months and then I had family business to deal with. I left the laptop untouched accept to care for the battery. Before my absence, things were working great. It's been nine months and obviously something has mad it unstable. I did a j-say repair as instructed and it will take some commands and ignore others. I have used this successfully in the past. I can't figure out what is going on. I hope t and t will be able to improve the traing portion. I was going to create a new profile, but the j-say key hung up half way through the training material. I waited a safe four second interval, but this feature has never worked well for me. Will there be an improvement or has it stayed the same in dragon 11.5. I am considering an upgrade, but I would like to see if the problems have been fixed. I increased my accuracy setting and didn't get a long speech lag and things were a little better. Another problem I am now having is when I start to spell something in the correction box, it just echos the first letter. Yes, I have echo and spell turned on. Sometimes, it will silently finish the word and sometimes it doesn't. I find this irritating because I have to use the keyboard. Hope someone on list can help with this. When I dictate, Dragon is happy. When I say 'move down one', Dragon types it into my document. When I say "press control n" it either ignores me or goes ting. How do I explain that I am commanding???? Thanks,
