Unless it's some new way of caching I've never heard about, I'd say it's
beyond the shadow of a doubt.

I located all the cached copies on the computer, and removed them,
several times (they'd return when I attempted to load the page again).

I was able to watch one page that was edited yesterday suddenly start
working today, but another one that was edited today I never could get
to load correctly.

I'm sure it's got to be something I screwed up somewhere on the ISA
server. Here on the local subnet (same as the web server) it is working
fine, and it has to pass through the ISA to get there.

Hi Dan,

Have you confirmed, without a shadow of a doubt, that the content isn't
being cache by the browser? The ISA firewall will never cache content
that you have told it not to cache.

Hmmm, that does remind me that the proxy settings "have" to be used in
order to get anywhere from those subnets, with the way it is setup, so
the direction to look is definitely the ISA server.

I'll see if I can dig up a different browser, it's been a long time
since we've had to use anything other than IE.

Try installing FireFox or something else and see if it loads the old or
the new version. Simple way to test if it's an IE issue with the way
those systems are setup.

I saw a weird problem today with caching of our web server.
Computers on one subnet get the current version of a web page, while
computers on another subnet get an older, outdated version.

After talking to them a bit, they said it happens all the time,
and it usually takes a day for them to see the changes they made. If I
use the hostname of the web server computer as the URL
(http://hostname/webpage.htm), the current page comes up, but if I use
the published URL (http://www.domain.org/webpage.htm) of the same page,
it shows the old version.

I did the usual, cleared the Internet Explorer cache, searched
the entire hard drive for other cached copies, restarted IE, etc.., to
verify it wasn't the client that was caching it.

I checked the ISA logs, and it said the web request for that
page was passing right through to our webserver, from one subnet to the
other.

I created a caching rule on the ISA server to "Never cache any
content" to see if that was the problem, didn't make a difference.

I changed the expiration date on the webserver for pages to
expire immediately and restarted IIS, didn't make a difference.

Anyone have any other ideas where to look?
