Yesterday i tried to update my kernel from 2.6.14 to 2.6.16 through Yum.
The download and installation went fine. When i rebooted the system, gRUB
did show me 2.6.16 option. When i select and start the booting, the INIT
screen comes up and after it shows ...

Thent has to switch to a GUI screen, which it does with my 2.6.14. In this
screen, the individual stuffs being initiated like " CUPS, HAL daemon, etc
etc.." are shown and it proceeds to the Login Screen.
But with my 2.6.16, it stops here after the INIT screen and the screen
blinks ending up with a "X" like pointer. It doesnot get into the GUI
screen. It hangs there. I tried interactive startup by pressing "I" but
nothing happens with that too.
I have a NVIDIA GeForce fx-5200 AGP Video card which works fine till now
and a P4 1.8 GHz Procs. Is this due to the 3D card?
