The Icon does use Linux, but it uses an accessible version of Linux that
Level Star/APH have developed. For this reason, it doesn't work with some
programs such as Skype. We could have someone that knows the Icon very,
very well try it out. If this was incorporated into the Icon/Braille+, they
would have to get read of the music player that already exists, and that
would require a lot of development, and a lot of confusion for new users.
This would be a very cool thing to have, though.

Why couldn't the mplayer text based Linux media player that is similar to
Winamp be compiled to work on the Icon? Then you could play whatever file
format you wanted.
