If you decide to use hte command line version, you may also want to consider
adding the /r switch to the "chkdsk X:" command where X = your icon letter.
The /r command switch breaks any current file handles, performs the check,
and attempts to fix any problems.

Mike:

You might want to do a check disc and see if you have any corrupt files. If
so, you can delete them.

Close all programs. Connect to the PC. You'll need to know the drive
letter that windows has assigned it to. Go to:
Start menu, programs, Accessories, and choose "Command Prompt." Type in
"chk, dsk, followed by a space and the letter of the machine, followed by
colon.

It'll give you a report of what it finds. This will probably take a long
time to do.

What would you suggest that I do during the interim? A normal reflash did
not rectify the situation.

Thanks and best regards,

Mike

We don't recommend doing that. It is best to reflash in that kind of
situation. In the future, the way the unit is reflashed will be different,
so the hard drive will get partitioned.

How do you disfragment the Icon's hard drive like you were talking about?
I have always wondered how you do the skandisk utility that the sync program
talks about.
If your Icon or Braille Plus isn't in disk drive mode, here is what you get
from the
sync program.
Arror. We could not find your Icon or Braille Plus. Please make sure that
it is
connected through disk drive mode, and connected to the PC. If it still
isn't working, run the
sandisc utility to check for arrors.
