Yeah, i still haven't given up on that one. A few weeks ago i wrote a
small python program to compute sha1 hashes on all files and dir
structure to be able to compare the contents of various images / real
hard drive (originaly an idea for in place upgrading / system
integrity). But there wasn't any difference except the iso had the
separate zip packages and overlay dirs. So i guess your intuition is right.
