While it's not a bad idea, I don't think it's needed to write drivers for many legacy hardware that BeOS already provides drivers for - if you really need that hardware working, you can just use the BeOS driver directly. IMO we should concentrate our driver support on new hardware. We're still lacking support of many current technologies like HD-Audio (might be covered by Ithamar), S-ATA (one driver in the works by Marcus), WLAN, ... Bye, Axel.
