Personally, I would prefer just one button style. Think even without spacing you can clearly distinguish between adjacent buttons. Think this would be more consistence. For example, what is if the dev mixes rounded buttons with rectangular combo boxes? Also think that the trend goes back to rect buttons or at least only with a very small rounded corner. However, I don't bother about the appearance much. So why not implement it as a theme? for people who care? (using an external theme manager)
