Find the MSDS for the product.
Epilog has a good intro to using MSDS
http://support.epiloglaser.com/article/8205/30188/material-safety-and-your-laser
Bondo is owned by 3M, they have a MSDS search engine:
http://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/SDS-search/?gsaAction=msdsSRA&type=ptn&msdsLocale=en_US
However, the last time I looked for fiberglass MSDS sheets the problem
was that it's not covered by OSHA as long as used as directed.
That is,
"Do not stare in to laser with remaining eye."

All,
I want to laser cut what is essentially fiberglass cloth (Bondo;

I am trying to make a thermal insulator for a Diamond Hotend for a 3D
printer (http://reprap.org/wiki/Diamond_Hotend). The one that I got is
an Ebay special recommended by JetGuy. It does not come with this
thermal barrier as shown from the real version from Reprap.me
(http://www.reprap.me/diamond-hotend.html). After reading the reprap
wiki, it states that the thermal barrier is created by laser cutting a
fire blanket which looks to be fiberglass. I have the dxf file from the
diamond reprap wiki.
Not sure if we have crossed this bridge before so I wanted to start a
discussion before proceeding. Thoughts?
