Hm... I think there are times when its perfectly valid to leave some
connections of a set unconnected, eg. you might have one source feding
some of the inputs of a higher order soundfield, eg. stereo feeding 5.1,
which is later mixed with a true 5.1 source.

One thing that (I dont think) has been touched on is wether plugins should
be able to tell if some of its inputs are left unconnected, and wether the
plugin should get a buffer of 0.0's on that input, or NULL (or
requivalent).
