If it's a matter of the accumulator in the CP with the logic resetting one
cycle before the second CP, a brief delay in the logic for the first CP
could accomplish the same thing as using a third CP. In other words,
simulate the communication delay to the second CP with an artificial delay
before resetting the first accumulator.
