Ok, I've a trip to Brum and back tomorrow so will give the rest of it a go for the journey. Got about forty per cent in though. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alan Russell" <al.russell12@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Ian, I don't know how far you got, but, as I said, it did get better as
it went on. Alan.

Hi all, I'm afraid I didn't finish the book. She was said to have written a
classic English detective story. In that case, the classic English
detective story isn't my cup of tea. I found the plot pedestrian and the
characters shallow. Most of all I couldn't find any reason for me to be
interested in who had killed the first victim because there was nothing to
draw me in. I'm probably in a minority of one here, sorry. One other thing
it said at the top of the book was that she'd put her typing skills to
better use and turned to writing books. that's exactly how it felt.

Well, I for one enjoyed the book. A good old-fashioned whodunnit which
I thought got better as it went along. Really complicated too, so it
kept you guessing. Alan.

Okay, Folks; I've finally finished the Jill McGowan book so the
floor's open for discussion. I'm not much good at getting the ball
rolling on this sort of thing so I'll leave it to someone else. Sorry
you've had to wait for me.

Cheers,
Sandra.
