Hello Ann.

Roger Newall is quite correct in his description about inserting codes.

In the View menu, press Enter on the new font choice that you want, be it Braille Font or SimBraille Font. Or without going to the View menu, you can just press Control+F6 for Braille or Control+F7 for SimBraille.

Now to the issue about JAWS repeating lines when you arrow around. I know that can happen when you arrow up or down in a braille document and you are very far into the document. I just duplicated this by arrowing up and down 400 pages into a braille document.

Sincerely,

Caryn

I’m running windows 10 on a laptop with jaws 18 and DBT 12.3. I had the same problem with 12.2 and 12.1 as well. When I type control plus left bracket, the brackets are not on the screen for me to enter my code between them. At least, if they show on the screen, jaws is not announcing them. Where they should be, I’m finding blank spaces. If I type in a code anyway, DBT says my codes were not entered properly. Also, as I arrow down or right or left, every line is repeated by jaws at least twice and sometime the cursor will not move at all. I checked the view settings and both full page and print font are checked. I tried to uncheck print font but there is apparently no way to perform that action. Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on?
