Hi,

I can endorse what Kaye says about OBR. We sell it here in
the U.K. and, while not a low cost package, it is amazing
how it scans double-sided braille.

You might want to take a look at the following website:

http://www.neovision.cz/prods/obr/

This site fully describes and gives pricing for OBR (Optical
Braille Recognition), a Windows driven program used with
many varieties of scanners. I use this program and it is
truly amazing. I have had it for several years and it
really cuts through the chore of proofing a braille sheet.
It recognizes the braille and translates it into print.
What is phenomenal is that it scans and reads
interpoint--both sides at once! Plus, it is very simple to
use. I highly recommend this product. It's a little
pricey, but worth every penny when you consider the time
spent in proofing interpoint braille. -- kt

I haven't done a great deal of proofing interpoint braille,
but have had some success with good lighting as well as a
light application of chalk, crayon, graphite from pencil to
highlight the"raised" dots on the "right side". Yes, it's a
bit messy, and of course, one has to be prepared for the
cost and effort of embossing another "clean" hard copy for
the user!
