Sounds just like my boys. The greener/younger one immediately figured out
that if he hangs back, the seasoned horse will do all the work. And the
little sweetie would too if I didn't do something about it.
I have to be on the case of the green one ALL THE TIME. Some days are better
than others, and there is overall improvement, but it will probably always
be that way to some degree. Don't give up, it's normal. Keep working at it,
and remember, these are horses, not motorcycles. They each have their own
personality. And that's why we love them.
