actually now there is a equivilent of Hotspot Clicker built into VoiceOver and
in the Tutorial they cover that, and also Midi within the free Youtube short
video on there page. Look for virtual instrument's part one and two.
Also check out the getting started one as well.

True about Avid. However, even if they make more of Pro Tools accessible,
there's still the issue of not having a HotSpotClicker equivalent on the Mac
which will be required to access various plug-ins. As for Logic, it's
getting there but nothing on the Mac side offers anything close to the access
that we enjoy in Sonar 8.5.3. Pro Tools is good if you want to edit audio
but not good for MIDI. Then there is the issue with regard to navigating
softsynthe plug-n Windows.

Avid has already committed to excess ability inhouse on their own to make
things work with voiceover. I also heard that they have an excess ability
team already.
Check out

For excellent tutorials.
There's nothing really wrong with GarageBand, Apple just needs to get off of
their lazy butts and really commit to excess ability with it. If you want
something professional though… Get logic.
That is the equivalent of sonar and pro tools from what I've been told.

Wow, did you get ProTools and GarageBand to work with voiceover?
It sounds like options are running out for us.

It would help if we could use Windows 10 with sonar, then it wouldn't be a
problem. And I wish that I knew that before I had the agency purchase the
Mac book that I have now that's on the way. Oh well… I would just be using
ProTools and GarageBand … Cannot forget logic! That's a really cool app!

Hi Phil and anyone looking at MacBook Pro systems, do please read on.

BEWARE, having just purchased one of the very latest MacBook Pro systems, I
found to my amazement, horror and disgust that Apple’s Boot Camp no longer
supports Windows 7 Professional, only 8, 8.1 and 10. Even the UK Apple
Support technician I spoke to didn’t know this until he made enquiries
within Apple. So it’s official.

I sent more money on VM Ware, which did allow me to install Windows, but
that seems to cause problems when running certain Word 2010 add ins.

Finally in sheer desperation, I have installed Windows 10 having had to
actually purchase a copy of Windows 10.

I will spare you all further details of the aggravation all this has caused.

Have used a mid 2012 13 inch Mac Book Pro here using Sonar 8.53 and Windows
7 Professional. Any good hi end laptop should work well.
