I guess it depends what you want/need. It is still a very competent programmable text editor. It's GUI is definitely a bit dated, although it has been updated fairly recently. It even handles embedded images now. But if you're looking for a full blown programming IDE with all the fancy code awareness that comes with things like Eclipse (or dare I say Visual Studio) then don't bother.
