Michael Keaton is REALLY good in Birdman.

Trivia:
Birdman is about an actor who craves recognition
outside the role he is best known for (Birdman), so he steps into
Theatre. The movie was originally supposed to be centered around Johnny Depp
as himself, trying to get away from his Jack Sparrow persona. They couldn't do
it because there's another Pirates movie coming in 2017.

It opened at Cinema Nouveau up here.

Long scenes are cool. Barring Massive Attack, nothing comes to mind though. Oh,
wasn’t the first 10min of Snake Eyes a single shot?

Low budget? Yes. And it only opened in 4 cinemas, raking in less than $500k.
But it's probably best considered Arthouse, not B movie.

You can't not notice the camera work in Birdman. The entire movie, barring 1
or 2 scenes in the beginning is shot in one long continuous sequence. It's
obviously an illusion but it's still great to watch. There are scenes where
they
film in front of a mirror and you can't see the camera. There's a seen where
the camera follows Michael Keaton through a busy square in NYC. And a great
scene where the camera glides from the theatre rafters to the stage below.

soim guessing if birdman was shot in 30 days , that would make it a low budget
B movie?

Then I suppose they’d be guaranteed the Oscar.

I tend to figure that the camera work is only something you notice if it’s done
badly. I can’t recall when last I noticed good camera work in a film.

Same with most of the things, I guess. It’s only when the music is jarring and
detracts from the scene that I actually notice it.

Sheesh... apparently the movie was shot in only 30 days.

Birdman's camera work is amazing. I haven't been that technically impressed by
a movie in a long itme. All the while I kept thinking "I can't imagine how
hard it must have been to film this". Fantastic
 cinematography.
