I have really appreciated the many ideas shared on this thread.
I’m starting to think it would be useful to get a disassembly and repair
instructions from Rapido (if possible). Or create one from experiences of
other modellers. The idea of building a G4 on the Hudson drive frame is a very
interesting one to me. Likewise, the D9 idea sounds cool.
These days the largest challenge (besides eyesight and $$) is time!

machining or a cast brass replacement boiler.
