Hello, The Great
American/Kathryn Beich fundraiser has been
extended! All orders should be
turned
in by the beginning of school on September
18th. This is the PTA’s primary
(and hopefully only)
fundraiser this year. The proceeds
of this campaign are targeted to fund all of the programs and events
for the
year. Some of these include: Student Enrichment (author visits,
in-school
assemblies, field day entertainment), Staff Appreciation, Family
Activities
Events, the Star Spangled Celebration, funding healthy snacks and water
for Field
Day and Jump Rope for Heart, sponsoring the 5th Grade
promotion, running
the Scholastic Book Fair, grade-specific presentations, providing
volunteer
training and assistance, promoting student-initiated community service
(like
Give Thanks and Give Back), and our various means of strengthening the
Home-School
connection. Your support of this
campaign is very much
appreciated. Your kids may be excited by the cool incentives offered
by
the company, and we think adults will be impressed with the selection
of gifts,
gadgets, wrapping paper (naturally) and magazines. Your child can
register online at www.gafundraising.com
so that out of town friends and relatives can help support our school
(School
Code: 995613). **Don’t forget, if your
child sells at least 5 items,
he or she will be entered into the PTA’s drawing for an iPod
Shuffle with a $25 iTunes gift card.** Because not everyone is
interested in catalog shopping, I
would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that 100% of a direct
monetary donation goes to the PTA to help fund our programs - and
direct donations
are tax deductible. Furthermore, we decided at our general meeting
last
Tuesday that with a direct
donation of $25, a
student can be entered in the PTA drawing for the iPod and gift card.
Though donations are of course accepted at any time, a donation for the
purpose
of entering the drawing must be received by the fundraiser due date,
September
