Wish I could make it. Doing a hike with my Monday group. Our trail head will be
out Old Don Pedro Rd. Red Hills area but you take the road just past Red Hills
Rd from J59.
Hope to do the 7 or 8 miles.

Sorry for the late notice, but this time of year it's hard to plan very much in
advance.
Red Hills Recreation Area Lori has scoped out some trails we have not done
before. We will hike the Overlook, Soap root, Old Stage Loop, for a 3.3 mile
loop, starting at the trailhead at the MAIN PARKING LOT, (not the one on
Serpentine Rd. where we usually start).
Meet at 10:00 iust past traffic lights at Rawhide Rd., and the Tesoro Station.
We can figure out carpooling there. If you choose to meet us at the
trailhead, plan on being there at 10:30. I believe there is a restroom at the
main trailhead.
The planned route is 3.3 miles. Bring trekking poles if you use them, boots
highly recommended. Weather will be dry, but probably crisp and cool so dress
in layers. We can have a picnic/tail gate lunch back at the trailhead after our
hike. Hopefully the parking lot will not be so crowded as it is on weekends
and we can get one of the picnic tables. Dogs are welcome, but there are
horseback riders on the trails so be prepared to leash up in a quick minute if
we encounter any.
