Hi all. This is a bit late, but Lori and I are going to hike at New Melones on
Monday.
Location: Glory Hole Recreation Area (Calaveras Side of river)
Enter park on Whittle Ranch Rd., at bottom of hill turn right towards Angels
Creek, Buck Brush, boat ramp
Drive all the way to the end to the Buck Brush parking area.
Meet at 10:00 at the Buck Brush parking area
We will hike the Angels Creek Trail, about 3 miles, maybe 3-1/2.
Bring lunch to eat afterwards in a day use area.
Dogs are welcome, off leash is ok too. BUT, be forewarned: today when I drove
out there the cattle had broken in from the neighboring pasture! I'm pretty
sure they will be corralled up and returned home by Monday, but the sneaky
creatures do know all the weak spots in the fence.
