[bookshare-discuss] Vampires, shifters, and witches, oh my!

Just thought I'd change the subject line and throw in my own two cents
worth.

I am a romantic and a lover of fantasy and romance. Vampires are indeed the
tragic heroes, walking the night alone, never being understood and in a lot
of books, constantly afraid that their dark side and the beast within will
override their good judgment and they will lose their humanity.

I couldn't read all of the anne Rice stuff, but my introduction back to
vampire land started with the Carpathian series by christine Feehan and it's
just escalated from there.

I also love books about shifters. There is an excellent book called Slave
to Sensation by Nalini Singhe. It's what I would call a futuristic
paranormal and is available on bookshare.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Circle Trilogy and am always looking for more
fiction books which give a realistic representation of witchcraft, or at
least a decent representation based on some of the principals of wicca.

Ahh, and how could I forget J. R. Ward's Black dagger Brotherhood series,
also on bookshare?

For me it is the mystery and the allure which draws me to these types of
stories.
