Hi Patti, You can order directly from the Braille Institute. I haven't done it, but have seen their announcements. I do not know about ordering online from them, but I guess you could call or email them if you can get the contact info. Are you hooked up with web braille? You can download braille books to read on your computer or with a notetaker such as a packmate or braille note. You contact your library where you get your talking or braille books from to sign up. I could be wrong but I think you have to go to the site of a third party organization. in order to get their books. What's BIA Rita ? ----- Original Message ----- From: Patti Johnson To: bookshare-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, May 27, 2008 10:16 AM Subject: [bookshare-discuss] Re: OT Ordering Online from NLS Yes and other braille book distributors too. In other words, why should I call my library, to just have them order for me to other libraries? I wanted something from and they tell me I have to get my library to order for me. That seems like a step not necessary to take. I should be able to do this all on my own. I am interested in learning more about the KLAS thing some one mentioned. What is it exactly? Rita ----- Original Message ----- From: Patti Johnson To: bookshare-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, May 24, 2008 11:45 AM Subject: [bookshare-discuss] OT Ordering Online from NLS Hi, sorry for this ot post but thought maybe some one here could help me. I found some quite older books that NLS have, by looking in their catalog; they showed up with the book numbers and where transcribed and distributed from. Can I order these books online, instead of going through my library here, it seems by doing that I'd be saving a step. Is this making sense? If so how do I go a bout doing this, where do I go on the nls webpage to do so? Thanks, Patti Throw all your worries on Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5-7, Good News for Modern Man, Today's English Version ------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message.
