Hey, Everyone:

One thing I'd like to point out is that we have a program for school
children where our products are available without cost to them. The
products are purchased with money allocated from Congress under a
special grant. In order to offer these products under this program, the
products have to be unique to any other product on the market. I say all
of that to say this: If APH were to put a radio in this product, that
could jeopardize the ability to sell it to those customers. Several
years ago, we temporarily carried a recorder with a radio in it, and the
trustees and teachers were very unhappy about having radioes in the
classroom. I am in no way intending to open up a can of worms here, but
just merely want to point out another side to this you may have not
thought of. Every one is entitled to their own opinion and I respect
that. Often, we have to look at the whole picture. Since the Book Port
came out, it has been very popular in schools.
Food for thought!

Pamela

Jim, that being the case, I'd vote for the radio.

:I haven't been following the conversation. But let me say now days
radios
for mp3 players come ona single chip the size of your thumb nail.
That's it
a single chip. These chips purchased in quanity cost $5. So the
BookPort's
engineers could easily fit a FM radio into the BookPort. From what I
could
see neigther size nor cost should be a factor.
