Yes it's an interesting and logical thing to wonder. I'm just glad I've been (knock on wood) in that category of users who haven't experienced this problem either with my own nor at least ten others that I've directly supported in various ways.

What I'd like to know is why some people have had to replace; including
multiple replacements; the BP's battery terminals and others have had
absolutely none. If the terminals were the problem, then I'd expect a much
higher failure rate and the fact that it isn't all that high indicates that 
their design is not the real issue.

Tim and others,
   I have not seen battery terminals used that last forever.  Not just the
type used in the BP. So its in general, a weak link and one we all have to 
be careful using.
