Hi,

When someone saw my unit, they were to use their own words, amazed that the
blind listened to books and even more amazed that they would listen to MP3
files.

Hi Sarah and list:

Indeed, carrying a book port around does have it's dangers. Some consider it
to be rude and/or anti-social when I've done it. Curiously, sighted folks
adopt similar appearances using their Ipod, but never receive critical
comment.

Thank you, Dave, I knew I forgot one importannt setting. If I took my BP to work and tested it, I'd probably be fired for reading on the job. <GRIN

Hi Sarah and list:

Just add voice to your list and I think you've got them all.

Cheers,
Dave

Sometimes, after changing the batteries, the following settings
are set back
to factory defaults:

volume
speed
pitch
frequency
sleep timer
date and time
automatic file advancement (yes or no)

There may be others, I don't have my BP with me to test this.
All of these
settings can be easily restored, though not automatically. None
of the data
on the card is affected.

Irwin,

I've always had that problem and I've had my BP for 2 and a half
years now.
It's never bothered me that much but I've always wondered if
others could in
fact take up to 30 seconds without loosing their settings. Lou

Hi, when I change batteries all of my settings are lost.

I think the documentation says that settings should be retained
for 30
seconds or so.

It probably takes about 10 to 15 seconds to change the batteries.

Does anyone else have this problem?
