This is just my thinking, (no offense, iether), but I would think the
braille 'N speak isn't too cheap? Or is it in the thousands. If it is, then
stick with the bookport. If not, and you can afford it, buy it. It is a far
cry from the new generation (pac mate, etc etc), but it will do, until, at
least, the bookport's notetaking capabilities improve some. Who knows, that
may be soon, if everybody keeps encouraging APH. I have never really had
technical experience with them, but I'm willing to bet there as good as
freedom scientific (which, by the way, are very good and helpful when it
comes to kustomers).
Tyler
but for the unlucky, poor ones like my fiance and myself, we do use the BookPort in place of a note-taker. But that's our right and what we must do because of circumstances beyond our control. As such, some of us would like improved note-taking functionality. If we get it, great! If we don't, we're not going to throw a tantrum or something rediculous like that.

Yes, Tyler is on the money here. The Bookport note taking function is not meant, nor was it ever advertised as being something that would take the place of a dedicated note taking device. It is designed to let you take quick notes in computer Braille when you need to. And, it works as it was designed to do.

How would that alarm work? You'd need to wear headphones everywhere, and
that sounds rather complicated...but it could be worked around I guess. What is wrong with the notetaker? Its not meant to have huge notes taken; its
just for basic little memos, like phone numbers, street addresses, etc etc. Maybe some notes from a meeting. But, as technology goes on...

I do too. sounds like a good idea. I would also like to see thenotetakerfeature improved. I'd like perhaps for the clipboard to be a bitlarger, upand also to see an alarm feature where you could set the time and the bookport would sound an alarm to remind you of apointments, to wake youin the mroning, etc. It wouldn't have to be a fully-fledged appointment
calendar, just a simple alarm feature. I'd also like to see acalculator, either basic or scientific, I don't care. That way I won't have tocarryhelp.around an extra talking calculator I could just use the one on the bookport.

I like that idea a lot. I sometimes receive email that is fairly lengthy and that consists of technical or otherwise sensitive material. This would be a greatPort

That is certainly something we can take a look at, and it is a great idea.

Hello listers and APH, I am wondering if it would be possible to implament a send to Book16/11/2005
option to the file menu for sending emails directly to the BP.
I think this would be a great addition to the Book Port Transfer software.
Thanks
Scott
