yes. But maybe, I'm thinking, there could be an option- for those who wanted the full blown notetaker, and for those who didn't. But i am also wondering would that mean 2 different firmware upgrades, because of the code (if any new code is required, that is).

I have no problem with what anyone suggests. I simply think that it
would be unrealistic to expect the Bookport to take the place of a full
blown note taking device.
The fact that I state an opinion does not interfere with anyone's right
to suggest anything.
If a person feels that everyone must automatically agree with his/her
suggestion, well, that makes no sense to me.
If I make a suggestion, it is altogether possible that someone on this
list can point out to me why that suggestion isn't feasible. I'm not so
thin skinned that I would then conclude that the list was prohibiting me
from making suggestions!

Which doesn't mean that the note taking function can't be improved. As Larry said, let the suggestions be made. If we ask, and the APH team thinks it can be done, then it probably will be done.

Yes, Tyler is on the money here. The Bookport note taking function is
not meant, nor was it ever advertised as being something that would
take
the place of a dedicated note taking device. It is designed to let
you
take quick notes in computer Braille when you need to.
And, it works as it was designed to do.

How would that alarm work? You'd need to wear headphones everywhere,
and

that sounds rather complicated...but it could be worked around I
guess.
What
is wrong with the notetaker? Its not meant to have huge notes taken;
its

just for basic little memos, like phone numbers, street addresses, etc etc. Maybe some notes from a meeting. But, as technology goes on...
