I've never had a problem losing anything but the time and date when I've just done a quick change without pressing D+E+F first. I think that the time frame may be closer to 20 seconds than to 30. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lou Kolb" <loukolb@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, February 10, 2006 3:29 PM Subject: [bookport] Re: Saving Settings when Changing Batteries Time and date plus other options which are chosen in the settings menu. However, you can hit the d plus e plus f command before you change batteries and settings should be changed. All you will loose then is the few seconds off the clock that it takes to actually change the batteries. It's never bothered me that much but I've always wondered if others could in fact take up to 30 seconds without loosing their settings. I think the documentation says that settings should be retained for 30 seconds or so. It probably takes about 10 to 15 seconds to change the batteries.
