Hi,
After you copied all of the files to your computer, and if you can't format
the card on the book port, connect the bookport to the computer and close
down the transfer program. Use Windows to format the card. Then copy your
files back to the book port.

Thanks for the info. I pulled up the drive and the files I thought were
gone are all there. Still can not pull them up on the bookport. Should I
go ahead and get rid of everything? But the card still disables the BP so
reformatting from it is not an option. Thanks Elaine

Try reformatting your two gig card. If you can't do it by pressing the 1,
3, A, and C keys on your book port, reformat it from your computer. If you
plug your book port in and exit out of the book port transfer software, you
can go into my computer, it will show up as a drive. There is also a
feature in the transfer software you can use to check the card for errors.

Subject: [bookport] Need help

Hi list, I need a bit of help with a problem that has never happened to me.
The other day I changed batteries on my bookport and after that my bookport
said that my 2 gig card had not files. Well before I changed the batteries
it was quite full with all sorts of audio books. I took the batteries out
and insert them again and no luck. I then plugged it into the computer and
bookport transfer recognized the unit and I had three folders left but no
files in them. I then took the bookport off the computer and it was dead I
took the batteries out and put them back in and tried another card worked
fine. But if I put my 2 gig card back into the book it will cause it to go
dead. I pop the batteries and it will give me the "defaults restored" then
I get no response from any of the buttons. So gang what in the world have I
done to my trusty BP. It will work with my other cards. The computer will
recognize the card, but will not left me load anything on it and it causes
the dead buttons. HELP. Hope this is clear and someone can help.
  Elaine
