Well I just turned 65, and there wasn't much mainstreaming going on until the 70s, although some public schools had blind kids in them during the 50s and 60s!

yeh, i have opinions on those things and would like to hear what you have to say on the issue. i grew up mainstreamed and never went to a blind school. i have feelings on both sides of the issue. btw i'm 39 years old and things were sure a lot different when i was in school. sheesh! now i sound old.

Well there may be an interesting podcast if you discussed the advantages and disadvantages of schools for the blind, and likewise, advantages and/or disadvantages of mainstreaming!

Actually, due to the fact that I do not want to lose subscribers, I
have decided not to do a school for the blind podcast. Plus, I was
having a lot of problems last night with my technology. Today, I talk
about WinTrans and AOL Music. Check it out.

Hi John! I went to the Michigan School for the Blind from September of 1947
until June of 1960. I felt that my schooling there was useful, although I
lived in Lansing, where the school used to be, and I lived only eight blocks
from school. A cab took me back and forth to school up to the 10th grade.
When I was in the 11th grade, I walked back and forth to school for a while.
