Well I just turned 65, and there wasn't much mainstreaming going on until the 70s, although some public schools had blind kids in them during the 50s and 60s!

Well there may be an interesting podcast if you discussed the advantages and disadvantages of schools for the blind, and likewise, advantages and/or disadvantages of mainstreaming!

Actually, due to the fact that I do not want to lose subscribers, I
have decided not to do a school for the blind podcast. Plus, I was
having a lot of problems last night with my technology. Today, I talk
about WinTrans and AOL Music. Check it out.

Hi John! I went to the Michigan School for the Blind from September of 1947
until June of 1960. I felt that my schooling there was useful, although I
lived in Lansing, where the school used to be, and I lived only eight blocks
from school. A cab took me back and forth to school up to the 10th grade.
When I was in the 11th grade, I walked back and forth to school for a while.
