Miriam:

Well now, I wouldn't say that!

I have a fairly large and somewhat non-corrupted vocabulary of the various
connotations and denotations.

For example I would like to know the Stein position on U.S. Activities in
the Middle East since the time of FDR.

There are others but this would be a good step.

Alice:

Miriam most certainly classifies me as a 'right-winger'.

However, I most assuredly would vote for Jill Stein if she would
explain her
programs in a factual manner, i.e., understandable and meaningful to
me.

So, yes, a vote for Jill does rather hurt the deme and
benefit the

Alice, yes we debate this time and time again. I
agree with
your total analysis except for the point about a vote for Jill Stein
being
taken as a protest against both major parties. I don't think it
would be
seen as that nor used as that. I think it is only seen as a vote
against the
Democratic party, which is how she has positioned herself. It is a
one sided
protest. This is evidenced in that I have never heard of anyone on
the right
side of the political divide stating that they are going to protest
the
republican establishment by voting for Jill Stein. Further evidence,
and
more damning, is that her activities are almost entirely in blue
states and
act as a divisor to votes that would normally go to democratic
candidates.
I'll go as far as to state that my opinion is that she is nothing
more than
a republican operative.

America
this is a debate that has been going on for decades
now.
The cookie analogy is somewhat flawed, note I say
somewhat,
because it's not the baker that removes the other trays of cookies
from the
display case and from us, it is actually we who do that. As
manipulated,
corrupt, bogus, deceptive as the process may be, there are primaries
in
which the voters themselves eliminate all but one candidate per
party per
office.
As for saying the dems and the RepubliKKKraps are
the same,
this time at least, I think that's dead wrong. I may not like the
dems,
either, and, by and large, I don't. But the likes of Cruz, Rubio,
Trump,
Carson are far, far worse. Trump belongs in a locked mental ward
somewhere.has anyone told you about how he grimaces, twists up his
face,
basically acts like a spoiled brat diva teen-ager, a little icing on
the
poisonous cake of his words, to stay in the bakery metaphor...
And Miriam's proposed scenario about the cookies is
actually
quite accurate.one of them could kill us or make our lives in any of
a
number of ways, much, much worse.and we have no way of knowing which
it
is.or maybe it's either one.
Vote for Jill Stein? OK, it will show up as
basically a
protest vote and an indication of dissatisfaction with the system
and with
either major candidate. Will it get us anywhere? I doubt it. Those
votes and
those who cast them will be dismissed as the lunatic fringe, as it
has
always been. Makes a good headline on page three. But otherwise?

To vote or not to vote. That is not the
question.
The question is, what does my vote gain for
the
betterment of the Working
Class Americans? Let's say that you and I
enter the
local bakery and behold
a display case of some 25 varieties of yummy
cookies. "Take your pick", the
baker says with a huge grin. As we begin
peering
through the glass in the
display case, the baker adds, "I should warn
you
that you cannot consider
the cookies on the far Left. Nor can you
choose
from those that do not have
approved ingredients. In fact, you must
pick from
among those that have
already been taste tested and given a seal
of
acceptance."
At this point, he begins grabbing up trays
of
cookies and taking them to the
back room. Finally, he beams at us and
points to a
couple of pans at the
far end. "These are the two varieties that
have met
our high standards.
Which one would you like?"
As we stare at the two pans we notice that
they are
actually almost
identical. We are given the same options
when it
comes to selecting,
voting, for our politicians. We see many
names and
political parties
displayed, but when the final ballot is
handed to
us, we have been reduced
to voting for one of two political parties.
And
when we look closely, they
are one and the same.
So keeping in mind that your vote has
already been
compromised, should you
care if you cast it or not?
By not voting, we are charged with being
unAmerican.
By voting, we simply
play into the hands of the Ruling Class.
True Patriotic Americans will rise up and
replace
the corrupt Capitalistic
Oligarchy with a new democracy.
But many will be hurt in the process. The
Empire
will not go quietly.
And even among those who secretly despise
it, there
are those who would sell
out their own mother or father for a little
favor.
Our short term future looks very bleak.

Point well taken. The one thing I

me going when someone complains
about our

that they haven't voted in a long
time or
ever.

Yes, that is an easy out for both of
us. I
can do the same thing in
New York. But suppose if weren't.
What would
I do then? Clinton's
domestic policies would be
incrementally
better than a Republican's, I
guess. But I look at what Obama has
done
domestically, or rather, what
he hasn't done, and add to that how
the
military and security budgets
keep increasing, and one wonders
whether, at
some point, there'll be
any difference at all. Of course,
the
rhetoric will continue to be

different. But the reality?

Hi all,
Well, living in Massachusetts gives
me the
luxury of voting my
conscience and not being responsible
for
helping to put the likes of
Trump or Cruz in the Whitehouse.
That's
because there is no way any of
the Republicans will win the general
election here.
Given that Clinton will be the
democratic
nominee, I will be planning
to vote for Jill Stein.

In fact, there was an article about
how
people in his own party can't
stand Ted Cruz. Apparently, they
find him
unpleasant and a
troublemaker. And Hillary's foreign
policy
doesn't differ from the

Republicans'.

HI
Hilary is both right and wrong.
Trump is
encouraging ISIS to think
all Americans Hate Muslims. She is
wrong
that they use his picture.
They don't need to show a picture.
All he
needs to do is open his
mouth and words fall out.
I think Ted Cruz is even scarier
than
Trump.
I won't vote for Hilary. She
really isn't
much different than most
of the Republicans. Either way we
are lost.

Salaam alaikum
