I do my own too. The problem is between reading just for pleasure and scanning, there isn't enough time to do books from the step one page. Maybe I take too much time but if I hear junk in a book and I don't like to interrupt thwe flow of the book and all of a sudden there is a junk character I dislike that with a passion. Another thing is I can't get to the libruary to get a copy of a book if need to.

Shelley, Sue, and others,

As Shelley mentioned, I do validate all the books I scan. I know that by doing this, I tend to get things done more efficiently because I have somewhat of an interest in the books I'm validating. I don't know what the numbers are, but it seems that many people scan books, but a far smaller number actually validate. If I'm right on that, it seems that more people should scan, and then validate, their own books. In other words, see your book through the process as far as you can.

And I'm certainly not scanning books which would be considered top priority. I stick pretty much exclusively to horror/supernatural, with an occasional foray into science fiction. The horror collection on the site is woefully small and I plan to help improve that situation.

I'm curious as to whether there are others on here who both scan and validate their own submissions, who experience a long wait time for approval?

Scott self validates some of his stuff.

I know for me, if I have self validated something it does get on the site
quickly. I have waited for months for some stuff.

Wonder how this Scott Blanks gets his approved so quickly? According to
him, 10 days is the longest he has waited between submission and seeing his
book on the site. That is strange and it ruffles my feathers a bit.

Peter, told me that the site gets updated once a day, the "new books" page,
so It is kind of not worth checking more than once a day.

I had one approved yesterday which should be up there today.

There were 2 added today: The Victim (Badge of Honor series) A Baby Sister for Frances

They're the top 2 in the new book list, and I didn't see them there
yesterday.

I believe it was mentioned recently that there would be a back log for a
time. If I'm not mistaken, this is supposed to be improving from week to
week. Again though, I've not noticed any lag, even with the past two
approvals. Are you speaking of two or three days between hearing about
an
approval and actually seeing it on the site?
