[bksvol-discuss] Re: inquiry to braille users

Although I don't proof, if I did, I'd use Kurzweil, my Focus forty display, and
jaws with windows xp. The main reason why I don't proof is because I don't like
to be always tied down to my computer. Now, if I had a Braille Note or Pack
Mate, I'd probably start proofing because then I could take the book with me.

I don't have one. Like somebody said, I'v wanted one for ages. I saw a
pacmate with a braille display a few years ago and its portability put me
squarely in the land of want. (smile)

I have an older Braille display, a Powerbraille 40. Do you have a display?

      Hi Nancy,

I have a Dell laptop with Windows XP, Jaws, and a Braille display. For
proofreading I use MSWord.

Hope that helps, and welcome to the list!

      Hi everyone,
I just subscribed to this list yesterday. My question for braille users
is what equipment or technology do you find most effective for proofreading
books? Write me off list if you prefer.

      Many thanks in advance,
