Hi, Anastasia. If you scan with Kurzweil, it has a setting that can correct many hyphenated words during the scanning process. It can be turned on under the geneal settings and then saved as part of your default settings. This really helps to cut down on editing time later. I think most people fix the hyphenated words before they submit books, and sometimes the validater will fix them. They make for some rough reading for our members, making words sound weird and look strange to the Braille users. I can imagine that they don't have the same impact when you can see them visually since you can just sort of skim past the hyphens. Editing these by hand is a tedious process, and Kurzweil's setting can be a big help for your future scans. (smile)
