If the pictures are captioned and linked to adjacent text, I would bracket the 
information on the page it associates with something like:

[picture description/caption from unnumbered page: blah blah blah]

if a description is not necessary or available, above with only caption 
notation.
if there is no description or caption available, I would bracket like this:

[picture removed, description unavailable]

Others will weigh in, I am sure.
