We had a fledged mockingbird in our yard last night; prematurely I suspect. I tried to place him back in the tree, but he wanted little of it. The single mom wanted none of it. I have gendered both without a clue, but the single part seems to be correct. We have seen only one parent. Scott Lexington, KY Frost surely spoke of a mockingbird in this A Minor Bird I have wished a bird would fly away, And not sing by my house all day; Have clapped my hands at him from the door When it seemed as if I could bear no more. The fault must partly have been in me. The bird was not to blame for his key. And of course there must be something wrong In wanting to silence any song. Robert Frost
