I visited Minor Clark and Shallow Flats on Monday, September 1 from 8:15
AM to noon. There were only two drained ponds at the hatchery. On my
last visit there on August 14 there were at least four drained ponds.
All four of those ponds had been refilled. There wasn't much mud
available for shorebirds.

Minor Clark:
2 Adult Bald Eagles
1 Red-shouldered Hawk
1 Black and White Warbler
1 American Redstart
Numerous Green Heron
5 Great Blue Heron
7 Least Sandpiper
2 White-rumped Sandpiper
Lots of Killdeer

Shallow Flats:
2 Red-shouldered Hawks being mobbed by several crows
2 Adult Bald Eagles
3 Common Yellowthroats
2 Tufted Titmice

Birds were nearly absent from both places.

stand alone in the breach - to own honesty when others dare not to do
it, cannot be sufficiently applauded, nor sufficiently rewarded."
